Bio

Osueke Chiamaka Juliet is a dedicated peacebuilding advocate, social change leader, climate change and gender & protection specialist with a deep commitment to transforming conflict zones into communities of sustainable peace and development. Raised in the conflict-prone Niger Delta region of Nigeria, she has witnessed first-hand the devastating effects of violence, flooding and marginalization. Despite facing significant financial and social challenges, Juliet became the first graduate in her family and community, a remarkable achievement that drives her to champion the cause of education, peace, and gender equality.

Juliet is a graduate of History and International Relations, with a passion for conflict resolution and peacebuilding led her to pursue a Postgraduate Diploma in Peacebuilding and Conflict Transformation through the Rotary Peace Fellowship. Her work as a volunteer at ECOWAS within the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) unit has further fueled her commitment to creating lasting peace in regions like Northern Nigeria, where Boko Haram and other violent actors have deeply impacted lives.

Juliet has worked tirelessly to empower marginalized women and girls affected by flooding, conflict and displacement. She has also led initiatives to equip people with disabilities (PWDs) with vital vocational skills, helping them use plastic and textile waste to create sustainable products like bags, berets and reusable pads. Her goal is to promote peace and gender equality through economic opportunities within her community and beyond. Juliet continues to advocate for a more inclusive, peaceful, and sustainable future, leveraging her knowledge and work to contribute to global peace efforts, particularly in Africa.
